Beijing, September the 6th, 2006. Andreas followed an invitation of the national Chinese TV to play at the celebration of the official launch of all activities for the Olympic & Paralympic games in 2008 in China, right at the foot of the Great Wall near Beijing. Since this is a major step for the Chinese, they have put up an event of an unbelievable magnitude. Hundreds of dancers, childrens choirs, Chinese super stars have performed in front of the Chinese vice president and many other high ranking politicians, members of the Olympic comitee etc.
Andreas, who’s work always has been dedicated to the spirit of a united humanity, has performed „Moondance“ from the album „Down to the Moon“, a choice, made by the Chinese. He was joined by a very unusual combination of band member; Andi Pupato, who normally is AVAFs percussionist, on drums and Xiaojing Wang on keyboards (she has been part of AVAFs projects since many years, but mainly as a virtuoso on the erhu, the Chinese violin).
This event marks the beginning of AVAFs extended activities in the land of the rising sun.
