ROKPA: Helping where help is needed

A message from Andreas | ROKPA INTERNATIONAL

For more than 45 years, the Swiss aid organization ROKPA International has been committed to supporting the “forgotten people of this world” – particularly in the Himalayan region and southern Africa. At the heart of its work are children and mothers, children with disabilities, and many others whose daily survival depends on our shared responsibility and empathy.

Andreas Vollenweider, board member and long-time activist of ROKPA, observes that many of us feel overwhelmed by the crises around the world and understandably retreat into our own protected lives – often using music as a refuge for calm, motivation, and peace. At the same time, he reminds us that countless people cannot even imagine such moments of safety and comfort – with or without music.

What concerns him most is that global willingness to donate is currently declining dramatically, even as the situation for these people becomes increasingly urgent. For this reason, he sincerely asks everyone to send “a little hope” and support ROKPA with a donation for their charity work. Even small contributions make a real and reliable difference on the ground, as he personally assures.
